Volunteer Management: The Next Step

This six-part course gives you the chance to explore volunteer management topics at an advanced level. If you are an experienced voluntary sector employee, this course will teach you the skills to manage your resources, volunteers, and programs more effectively. You will learn about volunteering trends, leadership, systems, communication, capacity & skills development, and program evaluation. By including an assignment component, this course gives you the opportunity to apply the knowledge you gain from each session. In addition to this, Volunteer Management: The Next Step moves you towards CAVR certification by giving you more than half the professional development hours required for certification. This program has been designed for voluntary sector employees who have completed Introduction to Volunteer Management Training fifteen hour program offered by volunteer centres.

Introduction to Volunteer Management |
This is an overview of the volunteer management cycle; a great introduction for those new to the management of volunteers’ profession or a great refresher for those wishing to sharpen their skills. This training will be required to participate in our Volunteer Management: The Next Step training program. The basics of what you needed to know about managing volunteers but had no one to ask will be covered in this overview of the Volunteer Cycle.
